  • As the richest man on earth, Elon Musk doesn’t need to travel like the rest of us.
  • He has an impressive fleet of jets and recently treated himself to a new one to replace an old favorite.
  • The luxurious Gulfstream G700 is worth $78 million and comes with an entertainment suite, dining area and leather toilet seats.

When he’s not driving one of his Teslas or planning trips to the moon, Elon Musk can be found flying around the world.

When you’re the richest man on earth, waiting around the baggage claim area and going through customs won’t do.

Which is why Musk has a fleet of private jets at his disposal.

Musk uses his planes for business trips and family holidays alike.

Plus they all come fitted with boardrooms should he need to take a business meeting in the sky.

Earlier this year he added a Gulfstream G700 to his already impressive fleet, and this one comes with five different living areas.

Elon Musk owns four jets and recently treated himself to a new one to replace an old favorite.

His collection includes the first jet he ever bought: a Dassault 900B, worth nearly $7 million.

His most used jet is his Gulfstream G650ER, which cost $78 million.

This model served him well, flying him the equivalent of six times around the earth in 2018 alone.

He then replaced this with a G700, one of the most luxurious private jets money can buy.

This Gulfstream set him back $78 million.

This would be quite a splurge for the average human, but when your net worth is $225.5 billion it barely makes a dent.

While his Tesla vehicles aim not to leave a carbon footprint, Musk is making up for it by regularly flying around the world.

It costs $3.5 million to fill up the G700, which will get about 400 hours of flying time.

The G700 is 109 feet long and 25 feet high, making it the largest purpose-built private jet.

It can seat 19 people comfortably.

And with multiple large sofas and a selection of beds, we’re talking very comfortably.

With a range of 7,500 nautical miles, it can fly from Singapore to San Fransisco without stopping.

The G700 boasts five living spaces, including an entertainment area and dining room.

The master bedroom has an en suite and comes fitted with “wellness boosting” windows.

These let maximum light in, helping to combat that groggy in-flight feeling.

The en suite also has a shower, multiple places to store toiletries and a leather toilet seat.

One of the reasons celebs favor private jets over regular planes is privacy.

But a few years ago Musk noticed his private flights weren’t so private any more.

A 19-year-old programmer called Jack Sweeney had set up a bot that used public records to tweet regular updates on the location of Musk’s jet.

Musk offered him $5,000 to stop, but Sweeney demanded $50,000 instead.

So Musk banned his X account.
